Alan Hensel Founder

Alan Hensel

Founder

Alan Hensel founded Hensel Electric in 1979 with a simple goal: provide dependable electrical service built on hard work, honesty, and quality craftsmanship. Starting as a small local operation, Alan worked tirelessly to build strong relationships with customers and establish a reputation for reliable service across commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

Through his leadership, Hensel Electric steadily grew into a trusted electrical contractor known for professionalism, integrity, and skilled workmanship. Alan believed that a successful business was built not only on technical expertise, but also on treating customers and employees with respect and doing the job right the first time.

After more than 30 years of dedication to the company he built from the ground up, Alan retired in 2012 and transitioned operational leadership to his son, Brad Hensel. Today, the company continues to operate on the same principles Alan established—quality work, dependable service, and strong community relationships—ensuring his legacy remains at the heart of Hensel Electric.

Russell Brackeen

Senior Estimator | Senior Project Manager

Russell Brackeen serves as Senior Estimator and Senior Project Manager at Hensel Electric. His career with the company began in 1990 when he was hired as an apprentice electrician. Through decades of dedication and hands-on experience, Russell has progressed through every level of the trade—apprentice, journeyman, and foreman—before moving into his current leadership role.

Throughout his career, Russell has worked in every aspect of the field. From crawling under houses and working through attics early in his career to leading crews on multi-million-dollar electrical projects, he has gained a deep understanding of the electrical construction industry from the ground up.

Today, Russell plays a key role in the planning and execution of Hensel Electric’s projects. He oversees the bidding process for upcoming work, supports estimators and project managers in solving real-world project challenges, and works closely with general contractors to present project proposals.

Once a project is awarded, Russell manages the transition from estimating to construction by coordinating material approvals and procurement while working closely with field foremen to ensure projects run efficiently and are completed on schedule. He also collaborates with office staff on pay applications, change orders, and project documentation to keep projects organized and moving forward.

With more than three decades of experience at Hensel Electric, Russell brings practical field knowledge, leadership, and problem-solving skills that help ensure each project is completed with quality, efficiency, and professionalism.

In 2017, he joined Hensel Electric Company as an apprentice electrician, where he quickly advanced. He earned his Journeyman's license in 2018, demonstrating strong technical skills and commitment to the craft.By 2020, David had stepped up to Job Foreman, overseeing crews, coordinating job sites, and ensuring projects met high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. In 2022, he transitioned into estimation and project management, leveraging his field expertise to handle bidding, cost analysis, planning, and overall project delivery for commercial and industrial electrical work.Known for his reliability, technical knowledge, and ability to lead teams from the ground up, David continues to build a strong career in electrical contracting. His progression from apprentice to key management roles reflects a passion for the trade and a drive for excellence in every phase of electrical projects.
